It’s Coming Back With New Ideas

The model railway display once based at Sligo Folk Park in Riverstown is returning under a new name: Sligo Miniature World.

Since that previous location, the display has doubled in size, with more detail, more movement and a much bigger vision driving it forward.

This is no longer just about trains.

Very soon, visitors will also see moving cars, bringing even more life to the landscape. We are also working on something special an online exhibition experience using small cameras placed within the models to give a miniature, ground-level view of the world we are building. It will allow people to explore the display in a completely new way.

Ireland in Miniature is already taking shape as part of our ongoing development. This concept will bring together famous Irish landmarks, recognisable scenes and landscapes from across the country, carefully recreated in detailed miniature form. The planned permanent location in Sligo will eventually become the home of this expanding vision, where every county in Ireland will have representation.

For now, construction and development continue, and the temporary location will be announced soon.

There is a lot happening behind the scenes, and this is only the beginning.
